A Questionnaire About Abortion


Thank you for reaching out and for the important work done to support pro-life policy and awareness across Canada. We are honoured to be the People's Party of Canada (PPC) candidates for Chilliwack-Hope, Abbotsford-South Langley, and Mission-Matsqui-Abbotsford. We appreciate the opportunity to share our views.

Current Legislation – Abortion & MAID

Canada currently has no legal restrictions on abortion; it is permitted at all stages of pregnancy. This absence of regulation is out of step with other civilized countries, where abortion is typically restricted after the first trimester and late-term abortions are prohibited except in exceptional circumstances. Regarding Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), it is legal under specific conditions, but I oppose expanding it further, especially for those with mental illness alone.

Experience with the Pro-Life Movement

We have each been actively involved in pro-life initiatives, participating in marches, volunteering with local organizations, and advocating for the protection of unborn children.

Pro-Life Legislation I’d Support

I support legislation that introduces reasonable restrictions on abortion, such as the PPC's proposed Protection of Preborn Children Act, which aims to restrict abortion after the first trimester and prohibit late-term abortions except in exceptional circumstances. Additionally, I advocate for measures that provide better support for mothers and families, thereby reducing the demand for abortion.

How I’d Advocate - Caucus & Publicly

Within the People's Party, I will collaborate with colleagues to promote and advance pro-life policies. Publicly, I plan to engage in open, respectful, and fact-based discussions on this issue, utilizing social media, community events, and media interviews to foster dialogue.

Advancing the Pro-Life Cause in the CPC

As a People's Party candidate, I am not involved in the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC). However, the existence of the People's Party encourages a broader discussion on abortion, potentially influencing other parties to address the issue.

Would I Vote to Restrict Abortion After 12 Weeks?

Yes, I would support legislation that introduces reasonable restrictions on abortion after the first trimester, in line with the PPC's stance.

Following the Party Whip on Pro-Life Votes

The PPC allows MPs to vote according to their conscience on issues like abortion. I am committed to upholding my pro-life principles in all legislative matters.
